At the current state, Syncing in Catalina is completely unusable.Įxactly! Playlists get copied from MacBook to iPhone and back producing more duplicates each time, until the library on both devices is completely ruined and needs to be erased. Now I need to restore the music library on my laptop.Īpple, when you create some software, please make sure it is at least somewhat usable. Every sync, creates a closed loop, where playlists are copied from one device to the other and every devices now has more and more playlists.
The Sync process took the playlists from my iPhone and added them to the Music library on my laptop.Going to Music on my MacBook Pro things get even more frustrating: On iOS, it is not possible to manage Playlist folders.Going to the Music app on my iPhone I see that duplicates are created for all of the Playlist folders, where the first copy is now empty, and the second has the expected playlists. After pressing Sync in Finder again, the process toon several minutes, where it should have taken only a few seconds. As A result I have hundreds of Playlists each having all songs from the entire music library. Not just from the Playlist folder, but from the entire library. For every playlist folder a Playlist with the same name is created, which contains all songs on the device.Going to Music app on my iPhone, everything is a complete mess:
#Sync folders pro catalina free
It used to show free space before Syncing. After Syncing my Music collection, the Space scale at the bottom does not show any free space. In iTunes, now Music app they are sorted alphabetically. Going to Music, Sync Music onto iPhone, Sync: Selected artists, albums, genres and playlists, Playlists: the list of playlists is completely randomised.Still, there is no control over the process. Another user has mentioned a workaround to just drag and drop ringtones to the iPhone.
